RAVOT is the first album by Alek Hidell, an Italian producer based in Milan.

RAVOT enters the electronic scene with its own peculiar formula. The compositions are the result of his electronic taste; the writing is steeped in progressive, psychedelic tones, kraut influences and echoes of library music, resulting in an extremely broad, unprecedented and personal sound.

RAVOT is a concept album, based on a real-life event that took place in Buggerru (Sardinia), the town where the author (Dario Licciardi) is originally from. The event is unpredictable, unexpected, against all odds: an explosion of light, a blinding energy, the sea rising in a towering column of water, a stray torpedo against the dock of the harbour, killing two children. A third, not far away, sees everything.
He escapes death but not insanity.

RAVOT is the story from the survivor child's perspective.
The structure of the album unfolds on several levels and forms, and is a journey into the inner imaginary of the protagonist. Each track represents a moment of his story and its echo in the survivor's mind: childhood memories of the beach (Dinghy), the torpedo ride (Torpedo), his disturbed relationship with women (Wom, Motherland), his exclusion and isolation (Spoons, Legs), his morbid relationship with music (Blo, Siel).

RAVOT makes systematic and continuous use of cross-media content, aimed at immersing the listener in its imagery. The writing process lasted six years. The tracks were recorded in Sardinia, Turin and Milan using analog instruments (tape echoes, synths and vinyls), samplers and field recordings.
